The Yankees have quickly positioned themselves as the team to beat in the SCBL. A great lineup to compliment an awesome pitching staff, there probably isn't a team in the league that can take the crown away from this club for the next couple of years. |

Pittsburgh GM Dave Legault made some great pre-season moves which included bringing Randy Johnson and Barry Bonds to town. The batting order is something to be feared. |

The Padres have made some moves to really strengthen their rotation, bringing in Shane Reynolds and David Wells. Their Bullpen has cost them 7 wins already this season, and certainly needs improvement. |

Where did these guys come from? The recent acqusitions of Albert Belle and Jim Edmonds is only going to make this team better. Roger Clemens is pitching like he was 25 again. Their team defence is among the worst in the league |

The Angels are hovering around the .500 mark. They play equally well at home as well as on the road, equally well vs righties as against lefties, equally as well....you get the picture. This team is right behind the Padres and are a good bet to make the playoffs. |

Toronto's Pitching staff has carried them so far this season. They are among 7 teams that will can possibly compete for the wild card spot. But along with the other .500 teams have to make some moves to catch the Mets. |

The Giants are playing pretty much the same way they were expected to play, balanced hitting and pitching with great Defence. They should be competing for the wild card spot come September. |

I want to say that the Astros bats are what is keeping them afloat in the Homer Happy Astrodome but their piching is performing admirably. Hernandez and Appier are pitching great and Hernandez has allowed only 1 HR, not an easy feat in Houston. |

After dismantling a potentially great pitching staff to build for the future it seemed as though Seattle had written off the season (and possibly the next three) but they are competing thanks largely to their bats in their hitter friendly park. |

Baltimore is one starter away from making a run at the Mets. Can Chuck Finley turn it around, the Orioles have to hope he can turn around an ERA that is among the league worst for starters. |

The Tigers have fallen a long way from where they were expected to be at the beginning of the season. There is a severe power outage in Detroit with a league low 19 Homeruns. They still have a team with a lot of talent and are slowly starting to turn things around. |

The main story coming out of Boston is the Amazing (and unexpected) play of Bobby Jones. Boston has never had a speedy team in any league but 7 SB? |

The Braves made out like bandits when they acquired Knoblauch from San Diego (.321 10 21) but the trade also left them with their staff ACE as Bartolo Colon. Major help is needed in this rotation. |

The Indians made a ton of moves in the pre-season and early in this season to prepare for the future. Unfortunately for them they are not having the same luck as Seattle and are paying for it now. Please put Guillermo Mota out of his misery (0-7 8.33 ERA). |
