        Kirkland Lake (SCBL Press)   The San Diego Padres, under the guidance of Bruce "Bubba" Legault, have won the SCBL Silver Cup!  "We did everything we could but could not muster enough runs against the Padres outstanding pitching staff", said Dave Legault.  "I am very proud of the way we played in the division series against the Yankees, however, we were in awe of the Padres pitching staff, and that caused us to buckle under the pressure."  "It was a great season overall and we'll regroup and try to make it again next year."  In the winning locker room, San Diego boss Bruce Legault had these comments.   "Coming in we were a little worried that with nothing to lose, the Mets may come in and eliminate us in the divisional series", said Bubba.  "Once that series was done, the boys calmed down a bit.  Having Boomer injured was another scare, but the rookie Ankiel, stepped in and got the job done so that we didn't give Mussina, Brown and Johnson a chance to steal the series back."
